The Book of Baby Birds

The Baby Poems

May 2002 (Last modified: July 2002)
Set up by Helen Gibson, Rosemarie Morgan & Birgit Plietzsch

This page is published in the interests of research and in an attempt to gain a consensus of opinion on whether the "baby" poems are indeed composed by Thomas Hardy. Please note that copyright laws obtain. Items on this page may be used for research and scholarly purposes only.

Working in conjunction with the recent "Baby" poems, attributed to Hardy and/or Florence posted on TTHA's FORUM this past month [May 2002], this page will present snippets from the original Detmold book in which these poems were first published. Copyright (not to mention the sheer workload involved) prevents from publishing more than a few samples of Detmold's illustrations, Florence's descriptions and Hardy's (?) verses. If you have any observations, comments or insights to make concerning the authorship of the verses please post them on TTHA's FORUM
